One Room, One Jam
PLEASE DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME IN FULLSCREEN - THE UI WOULD BE MESSED UP A LITTLE (thx)
The game is about struggles and joys of the game jam. Game jam is usually hard work under a time pressure where you need to balance between proper rest and non-stop work.
Here is a oportunity for you "the player" to try how it "can feel" to participate in a game jam. Hope you will enjoy this little game where many things were cut off and many things does not work as it was originally intended. But the game is playable at least.
INSTRUCTIONS
In game itself, you can enjoy just 1 minigame of "coding" where you need to write all the words you see. You also need to watch your energy and go to the bed if it is low to regain it back. There are 3 more activities, but those are just animation as I did not have time to implement any other minigame. You should end your run with "Publish" in order to get to the "win" screen.
As in any game-jam, remember that it is not important to have everything done to 100%, but to participate and finish.
You can navigate with arrows or A/D. The rest of the controsl should be covered in-game.
I have used Aseprite for pixel art, Unity as a game engine, FL Studio for sounds and everything has been created from scratch during the jam within 48hrs.
Link to my code if anyone would be interested.
Thank you for Your time,
Jin

Simple premise, nice pixel art, somewhat annoyingly repetitive and boring music, but unfortunately a bit too many gamebreaking bugs. After I hit 100% in Art my character disappeared and UI got messed up. Also I noticed that I would never have enough time to fully finish a game, the percentages/timer are a bit unbalanced.
Thanks for playing the game! Also great find of that bug. There are many loose ends (unfortunately) and you are right I haven' t thought about this one.
The thing where you don' t have enough time to fully finish the game is intended though. I wanted to show that it is almost impossible to be perfect in all aspects of a game jam. Truth is, that I hame made it impossible, but that was never a point. I come across many devs that would love to join gamejams but are afraid, as they are afraid from the failure. For me it was always finishing the project from start to end, with knowing it might or might not be perfect :)
cute game! the coding minigame got me stumped. but it was fun sjasdjhasdhjk
oh btw, there seems to be a glitch with sleeping that allows you to work on code/art/music while asleep. it seems to be happening when i press A/D while asleep, as when i do that, the prompt to work eventually will pop up, allowing me to work while asleep
Great bug you have found! I must have missed to end some states. Will defo look into that for a patch. And thanks for playing the game and sharing feedback
very nice art, and i love the design. also the animations are very entertaining.
Thx! Really glad you liked it
